Top 5 Hanukkah Cocktails of 2012

The Jewish holiday of lights is right around the corner and why not light up your night we a  nice Hanukkah cocktail. We have our list of our favorite top 5 cocktails and we wanted to share them with you. This year while your kids are playing dradle and eating their gelt you can enjoy one or more of these delicious cocktails.

#5 Manischewitz Sangria

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Manschewitz
  • 1 can lemon-lime soda
  • 1 cup booze of your choice (we recommend rum or vodka)
  • Fruit of your choice (we like apples, peaches grapes and cherries, but you can add just about any fruit you like)
Instructions
  1. Chop your fruit into bite size  pieces
  2. Put fruit into a large bowl or pitcher
  3. Cover fruit with Manischewitz, soda and booze
  4. Stir and let marinate anywhere from 1 – 24 hours (the longer you marinate it the more potent the fruit will be)
  5. Enjoy!

#4 Manichewitz Sangria Martini

Ingredients

  • Raspberry Stoli Vodka
  • Triple Sec
  • Pear schnapps
  • Manichewitz
  • Sour Mix
  • Sprite
  • Lemon twists for garnish
Instructions
  1. Add ice to a cocktail shaker
  2. Add 1 part raspberry Stoli Vodka, 1/2 part Triple sec, 1/2 pear schnapps, 2 parts Manichewitz, 1 part sour mix into the shaker
  3. Shake
  4. Pour into a martini glass
  5. Top with sprite and garnish with a lemon twist
  6. Drink up!

#3 Mazel Tov Cocktail

Ingredients

  • Manichewitz
  • Gin
  • twist of lime
Directions
  1.  Combine wine and gin in a old-fashioned glass with ice cubes and stir well
  2. Garnish with lime twist and serve
  3. Enjoy!

 

#2  The Menorah martini

Ingredients

  • Vodka
  • Sweet Vermouth
  • Blue Curacao
  • Blueberries for garnish
Directions
  1. Fill mixing glass with ice
  2. Pour in vodka and sweet vermouth
  3. Shake and strain into the martini glass
  4. Splash with blue curacao
  5. Garnish with a few blueberries
  6. Enjoy!

#1 Hanukkah Gelt Martini

Ingredients

  • Vodka
  • Goldschlager

Directions

  1. Combine vodka and goldschlager into cocktail shaker filled with ice
  2. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass
  3. Garnish with a chocolate gilt
  4. L’chaim!
